Abravanel Hall, waiting for "PLAY" to begin.

Utah Symphony and Choir. See that tiny choir in the middle, back row? They kicked ass!

This was our week to support the arts. On Tuesday we saw the Utah Symphony and Choir perform Play, a Video Game Symphony. They performed music from tons of video games, including my favorite, The Legend of Zelda. It has the most wonderful music. What was really fun for us was people watching. It wasn't your usual symphony crowd. People came dressed as their favorite gaming character. One large group of 20-somethings came in their flapper/1920's best. All the men had hats, the women were in gowns with long swingy necklaces. It was the greatest people watching I've done in a while.
On Thursday we watched The King and I at Alta High School. Zoë did the lighting, a chip off the old old old block. It was a fantastic performance!
We decided we need to go out more, the symphony was stunning. This was Zoë's last musical since it's her senior year, hard to believe. The Alta kids did a wonderful job.
My advice to you: go see a play, a movie, an orchestra, a band. Anything! It is truly magical to watch so many human beings work together to make something great.
